Week 9

Final outcome:

I have decided to remove the bubbles as I felt the typography spoke volumes alone. Having applied the watercolour effect over the top of the writing it still represents expansion of my city.

Milton Keynes right now is isolated. I wanted to portray this with bubbles, as everyone is in their own bubble essentially, especially when travelling outside for necessities. I wanted to combine this idea with the expansion of the city, being a very business city with rapid growth in the industries and housing sector.

how could I improve?

I was really challenged with trying to use fabric in some way, as I didn’t feel it ‘carried’ a message the same as watercolour does – that expansion and gradual increase of paint in water. If I could develop, I would try to incorporate the fabric in some way, maybe even print the design on to fabric and experiment further.
