Creative Research: the theory and practice of Research for the creative industries:

There are a lot of definitions I wasn’t aware of until I read this research text, which is helpful. Words include:

Ontology – dealing with the nature of being
Objectivism – human knowledge and values are objective
Subjectivism – knowledge is subjective to experience
Axiology – process of research; reinforcing the values
Positivism – knowledge based off human experience
Interpretivism – idealistic grouping of approaches
Phenomenological – the study of direct experience
Constructionism/Social Constructivism – objection stance of positivism
Phenomenology – a series of ideas/movement that has developed in different directions across time

We have already begun to explore the following but I find them easy to get mixed up as they both begin with Q… Therefore knowing they can be recognised as deductive and inductive research helps me remember!
Deduction/Quantitive theory – tested and presents a scientific approach to research
Induction/Qualitative theory – based on data you have obtained
