I really enjoyed Mandy’s interpretation for this week
Mandy’s post continued
Webinar exercise – quick lettering
Final outcome
Animals thinking strategically:
It was great for me to see Mandy’s take on this week as the references of the animal world were used, such as predatory responses. It got me thinking about how dolphins “play” with their prey and make a necessity for survival, therefore making it fun. The two videos below demonstrate dolphins thinking strategically about how to catch their prey, and even playing with a poor pufferfish as a source of entertainment!
Webinar line activity:
In terms of the webinar exercise where we had limited time to think about what we were going to draw on the page – I loved this exercise. I am definitely guilty of overthinking so I was really enjoying just drawing what came into my head! I also used a thick marker for my chosen letter S (representing sustainability) and the flow from the quick curvatures looks really great, plus it was something I have never tried working with before as I usually opt for thinner fine liners. Maybe this could be an option to explore in another future project.
Interactive outcome:
Winnie’s final outcome this week was so effective for the brief. I really liked how Winnie utilised the fact that Java was a new learning experience for her at the time and decided to create an interactive line drawing website with a quote to support her methodology of white space. It’s really inspiring and I would love to learn how to do something like this myself – I didn’t actually know Javascript would do something like this!!
